Winter is a magical time to visit the Smoky Mountains. Once the sun goes down, the towns come to life with sparkling lights. If you are lucky, you might even get to see some snow! There are so many exciting activities you will not want to miss during this time of year! Here are 4 reasons to visit Pigeon Forge this winter:

1. Smoky Mountain Winterfest

During this special holiday event, the town is draped with more than 5 million Christmas lights! Yes, you read that right, 5 million. Your family will be amazed as the Smoky Mountains are turned into a winter wonderland. The good news is that the lights run all the way through the end of February so you have plenty of time to plan your trip! Certain theme parks will also hold their own celebration of lights that you will want to check out, such as Dollywood and The Island.

2. Our Spectacular Christmas Show

There is something for everyone to see when you visit Country Tonite during the holiday season. For the whole month of December, you can enjoy our amazing Christmas show. During the performance, you will see a large variety of entertainment, including beautiful choreography, brightly colored costumes, and breathtaking decorations! Come on out and enjoy our talented cast performing a multitude of your favorite holiday hits. Don’t be afraid to sing along, we know you will want to! Be on the lookout for some special guest stars to hop up on the stage, including Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus! This is a holiday show in Pigeon Forge you don’t want to miss!

3. Snow Covered Mountains

The only thing that makes the views even more beautiful is when the mountaintops are blanketed with snow. If you want to get a more up-close view of nature’s beauty, there are plenty of hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that stay open during the winter months. These hikes provide all kinds of amazing views, including snow covered walkways and frozen icicles hanging from waterfalls!

4. Delicious Restaurants

Need a place to grab dinner before or after seeing our show? You are in luck! There are dozens of delicious restaurants near our theatre where you can enjoy a scrumptious meal with your family. If you plan on bringing kids to see our Christmas show, one of the best places to eat is Big Daddy’s Pizzeria. After all, what child doesn’t like pizza? Trust us, everyone will be satisfied with a slice of pizza from Big Daddy’s. They have a large selection of specialty pizzas that are to die for, but of course you can create your own masterpiece as well!
